If you’re like me, you prefer the last day of art class to be as stress and mess free as possible. I teach a survey art history course that is required of all undergraduate students, so I often have to overcome students’ skepticism about “yet another intro-level course.” What follows are a few types of activities that I use as “hooks” to foster student engagement at the beginning of class.
